Many times I make decisions that in the long run would cost
me a lot; spiritually, financially and personally. Knowing or unknowing I
intend to go ahead with something which isn’t right and I know someone out
there has been in that position before. Listening to the song “God Kept me” and especially the line
that says, ’the devil really had me, but God came and grabbed me’, it was catching
my eyes how at very many times the author of our lives has taken charge in
different situations that could have caused us harm.
How many times have you
been desperate for something, maybe money, a job, an opportunity, a
relationship or any other help that you were willing to give up anything
including your integrity to get what you wanted? Sometimes it is not even something special,
you just make stupid decisions, willingly or unwillingly. Sometimes you said
yes where you should have said no to someone and soon you find yourself in a
position you don’t know how to get yourself out. Maybe you lied somewhere and
now you have to defend your lie with another one to keep it alive.
God loves
you so much to let you be ground by the devil. Most of the time the devil is
enticing you with a bright ending but our father in heaven knows what is best
for you and what might end up hurting you along the way. God delays that
expectations, he turns that person against you, he hardens your uncle’s heart,
he allows the youth leader to hurt you, he allows that sickness to come upon
you, he lets you lose that job, he breaks down the vehicle to delay your
arrival, he lets your best friend to have the job you were to have, he can even
let someone die so that you get to your destiny.
He will do anything to cover
and protect you. You are the apple of his eye therefore, whatever it is that is
happening around you now, God’s working behind the scenes not to harm
you but to give you the best finish. Trust him to carry you through till the
end. The devil could have crushed you like wheat but God kept you. When it is
all over, you will see the reason behind what happened, maybe you won’t, but
trust me, God’s hand was involved.
