If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their
wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Chronicles7:14

President Kenyatta among other dignitaries at the prayer venue |
These
words, simple but powerful, kept being repeated in the national prayer
breakfast held in Nairobi today June 20th 2013 which brought
together all our leaders from the executive, Judiciary, Senate, National
assembly, Governors, County leaders, religious leaders, Private sector
leaders and diplomats from all over the
world among other dignitaries.
I
really wouldn’t hold my joy back seeing how the event was held, from the
reading of the scriptures and prayers being led by our own leaders including
the cabinet secretaries, Governors, senators, police inspector general we even
had our Parliament Choir (made
up of parliamentarians) present a special
number. I have never before seen this and knowing the power therein prayers; I
can’t help but give glory to God.
You
may not see the sense in it, or you may not even think that it is significant,
but trust me, there is power in prayer. Prayer can change your life. It is
through prayers that we communicate directly to God. There has to come a time
in your life when you have to swallow your ego, put aside any differences and
hold hands together to honor God and humbly submit to him.
There
are things you can’t solve alone, there are answers you can’t get by your education
or wisdom, there are issues you can’t solve, and there are mountains and
problems you just can’t get rid of. Only prayer can solve that which you can’t.

We
all might not be perfect but the truth stands out that, this day surely will go
down the history lane as a moment that changed a lot in the spiritual realm and
henceforth shall bring physical manifestation. Speaker of the senate said on a
light note…” we take God by his word, we have gathered more than one and have
humbled to seek his face; therefore God has no choice but to heal our land”.
